I am a Lover of Life, Seeker of Laughter, Mama, Entrepreneur, Yoga Teacher, Massage Therapist, Wellness Enthusiast, and Lifetime Student. I strongly believe we all deserve to be supported and to know how to support ourselves with tools for self-care, mindfulness, intention setting and the ability to manifest our intentions through action and awareness. I believe in the vast capacity of our hearts, that love is stronger than fear, and that we are more powerful and capable than we could ever imagine. I believe that through conscious movement, yoga practice, affirmations, healthy eating, skincare, self-care, and the practice of simply paying ATTENTION, we can truly impact and empower ourselves to show up as the best version of ourselves every day.
My passion is Community, Family, Yoga, and Health & Wellness. One of my biggest joys in life is being part of people’s wellness experience, allowing them to connect to their own inherent wisdom, strength and expression. Growing up, I felt a strong pull to encourage people to connect with their own bodies, their own healing process, and well being journey. My love affair with yoga and massage therapy began in 1998 when I was plagued with a low back injury due to my career as a ski racer. After connecting with a wonderful teacher and massage therapist, I realized that yoga had so much more to offer than “working on” or “fixing” simply one area of the body, and that massage therapy empowered me with an entirely different view of the human body, how it worked, functioned, and the importance of an anatomical education. I had amazing results and my entire relationship with my body and mind shifted. Yoga and bodywork began to open many doors. I never looked back. It became a part of who I am. In 2008 I graduated from Boulder College of Massage Therapy as a 1,000 Hour Certified Massage Therapist. In 2010, after completing my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Anusara yoga with Noah Maze, Sarah Faircloth & Sara Rose I became an RYT 200.
In 2012 my journey as a Mama began, and I now have 3 amazing, different, and extraordinary children. I never realized that motherhood was going to redefine my “yoga practice.” I didn’t realize that it would grow me, push me, test me, frustrate me and AMAZE me every single day. Motherhood became a daily yoga practice. It became the true epitome of how we take our practice OFF our mat, and into our world. My children have been my most powerful and important teachers. They hold a figurative mirror up to me every day so I consistently have to ask myself how I want to show up that day, for myself first, and for them. Motherhood also made me commit more than ever before to the importance of community, of supporting other mamas, of holding compassion for ourselves and each other always. I understood the importance of HOLDING SPACE for the community, and particularly women.
(No, it’s not the handstand)
The yoga pose is not the goal. Being flexible is not the goal. Standing on your hands is not the goal.
The goal is to create space where you were once stuck. To unveil the layers of protection you’ve built around your heart. To appreciate your body and become aware of the mind and the noise it creates. To make peace with who you are.
The goal is to love, well…YOU.
Come to your yoga mat to feel; not to accomplish.
